My New favorite Picture

My little guy is going to be 12 weeks on Tuesday. He is smiling and growing. He started daycare on Wednesday. He is doing good. Cousin Bailee is really helping him adjust to being there. She says "My Baby" and wants to help Mrs. Sherry change and feed Luke. At least we know he is in good hands with Bailee being there. This picture was taken the first day he went to daycare.

My Little Guy

Today we went to Luke's 2 month appointment. Tomorrow, Tuesday he will be nine weeks. Where is the time going??? Anyway back to the doctors appointment. Everything went very well. He weighed 11.5 lbs. and was 22.5 inches long. He is in the 40th percentile for his weight and 33rd percentile for his length. We have come such a long way because last appointment he was in the 7th percentile in his weight and 9th percentile in his length.
He received 3 shots today and did so well, he only cried a little. What a tough little guy (he takes after his mom on that). Today the doctor did not hear his heart murmur, YEA!!! Looks like that is healing on it's own.
Luke is a great baby, but at times he screams for an hour to two hours at a time and you can not get him settled. As I was telling the doctor about it she started describing what he did to a "T". She asked if he got stiff and arched his back and head, I said YES. Then she said does he make funny noises that sounds like he is having trouble breathing and again I said YES. She then proceeded to say she thinks he might have acid reflux. The doctor said 80-90% of babies have it but they only treat about 8-10%. The doctor prescribed him a prescription for it that he takes twice a day. We are hoping this helps. We go back to the doctor in a month to see if this is working. I will try and keep you posted to see if it gets better.

Brief Update

This morning I had my doctor's appointment. Not much has changed. My blood pressure was high but better then last time. I have not dilated any more but my cervix has thinned. I am now 80 % effaced! I go back on Wednesday and we will see where I am at then. The doctor said he might strip my membranes to get things going. If I don't have Luke by next Monday then he will more then likely induce on Tuesday, September 29th. He said we will for sure have Luke by next week! Let's see what Wednesday brings...

Hopefully soon

Yesterday was my 37 week check up. It became the longest doctor's appointment I have been to. I started off at the doctor's office. My blood pressure was high. It was high the last time I went to the doctor. He didn't like the numbers he saw and told me I need to go on bed rest. :( He sent me to the hospital to have test ran. They hooked me up to see if I was having contractions, listened to the baby's heartbeat and took my blood pressure every 30 mins. He also ordered blood work. We were in the hospital 3 hours doing this. They did put me in a labor and delivery room and made me stay in bed....not fun. They finally released me.
Monday I go to the doctor for another check up... and hopefully we can talk about inducing at the end of the week. He didn't want to induce because I am 37 week and the magic number is 38 weeks.
Maybe this time next week we will have Baby Luke!

Getting Close

Today marks 36 weeks! Only 4 more to go. Today I had a doctor's appointment. It was my first time to get checked to see if I have dilated. The good news is I have! I have dilated 2 cm and 60 % effaced. The doctor said everything looks good. He said he could feel the head when he checked me for dilation. My doctor said he doesn't think I will make it to my due date, he is predicting a week early. I am trying not to get my hopes up about him being early...but I hope he is. My blood pressure was a little high so he said to stay off my feet as much as possible. I go back in a week so I will keep you updated. Nerves and excitement are all mixed together!

6 weeks and counting

I am way behind on postings. I have 6 more weeks until Luke arrives. I had a sonogram done a couple of weeks ago and everything looks great. We debated on whether to have the 4D sonogram done. We decided not to because we wanted to be surprised at how he looks. I had heard that when you do the 4D you can really tell their facial features. I am glad we didn't do because the technician did try to show us his face in 4D and my placenta was blocking half of his face. So we were not able to see much. The doctors were shocked that he was measuring exactly on his due date. They said they usually measure a week before or a week after the predicted due date. He is in the right position.

I had an appointment yesterday and all was good. But I gained 6 lbs in 2 weeks....WOW. I will just say that Luke is taking on most of the weight....haha. I go back to the doctor in 2 weeks and they will start to see if I have dilated any.

Brian and I are both getting excited and nervous about Luke's arrival but we are both ready. We can't wait to see how much he will weigh and who he will look like. Will he get my big brown eyes or Brian's blue eyes? So many things to look forward to.

Last day off

I get to have the joy of being off during the summer since I work in the school system. Today is my last day to have off. My last day to sleep in, to lay around in my PJ's and just do what I want. Tomorrow I start back getting in the groove of things. At least I will only work for a couple of months and then get to have a "mini" vacation when Luke comes. I can't wait, only 9 more weeks and he will be here! The summer went by super fast.

Doctor's Appointment

Yesterday I had my doctor's appointment to see how Luke and I are doing. We are both doing great. We both are gaining and growing. The doctor measured my stomach and said Luke is measuring 1/2-1 cm bigger then he should at this week. Which I know is not much at all but is good to know that he is on track and growing.
I am looking forward to August 12th. I get to have another sonogram to see if he has started positioning himself and I get to see him!!! That is also my niece's Birthday.
October 8th sounds so far away but when I say I only have 10 weeks left that sounds so soon. I have to go back to work within the next week so I know time is going to fly by and then it will be time for Luke to be here.

Parenting Class

Here are a few pictures of me. I want the pictures to be at the bottom but they always end of at the top of my post.
This past week we started our parenting classes. The classes are to help you get ready for what to expect during labor and delivery. This first class they taught us breathing techniques and positions that you might want to do while you are in labor. It is a 3 hour class once a week for four weeks. This first class went fast. The teacher has a good sense of humor which helps. Brian is going to miss our next class this week because Christus Santa Rosa is opening a new hospital and he is going to be very busy with that. Let me tell you he is very sad that he will miss it, yeah right. My mom gets to go with me to the class and be my coach. I have a doctors appointment this Thursday so I will post if anything new is going on. This appointment the test me for gestational diabetes and anemia. Hopefully I don't have either and hopefully Luke is growing. Only 3 more months a week from Wednesday!!! Can't wait!

Luke's Room

On Wednesday I went to the doctor for my check up. Everything is looking good. Luke measured right on track and his heartbeat was good. The doctor did scare me when he was listening to the heartbeat. He kept moving the heartbeat monitor all over my stomach. He said at the week in pregancy he usually just puts it in one spot and the heartbeat is there. He was able to get the heartbeat but he was having to go all over my stomach because Luke was moving so much. He said how active he was in there.

Brian has been working hard on painting Luke's room. It looks really good! We are done (Brian is done) with the big stuff. He just has to touch up a few spots. I have ordered the crib and a dresser but it won't be in until later this month or beginning of July. Here are a few pictures of the the colors of the room.

1 week away

A week from today I go to the doctor and get to see if I am having a little boy or a little girl! That is if the baby cooperates and shows the right position. The one thing that I am really looking forward to is to see how much he or she has grown. Everyone is telling me that you will be so surprised the size. Last time I saw the baby was 10 weeks and when I go I will almost be 19 weeks. I just hope the baby is growing and everything looks healthy! We do have a couple names at the moment. The names are not 100% set in stone. I change the girls name pretty often but I think this is my favorite. At the moment the boys name will be Luke Cohen Betsworth and the girls name would be Emery Reese Betsworth. I will keep you posted when I find out if we will have a Luke or Emery!

Doctor's Appointment

Today I had my 15 week doctors appointment. The only thing the doctor did today was listen to the heartbeat. The doctor said the baby had a good heartbeat (157). Now I am just counting down the days till May 13th, that is when we find out the sex of the baby! I am ready to know so I can start painting the room and buying things!

Ring and string test

Yesterday Brian I went out to my brothers and sister in law's house. The boys were outside playing and Misti (my sister in law) was inside. We were talking and we decided to do the wedding ring and string test to see if I will be having a girl or boy. We are in the Kitchen doing it and the boys walk in. Of course they are already looking at us like what are you doing? Brayden, my nephew asks"What are yall doing?" we explained to him that this is a fun way to see if I will have a boy or girl. After we were done explaining and he was watching us his comment was...That is stupid. Remind you this is a 6 year old. We all just started laughing because we all know it is stupid but fun. Anyway, we did the test twice and both times it went in circles which predicts a girl. Remind you the Chinese calendar says a boy...so what will it be? Does anyone have any luck with the ring and string test?

Exhausted

Not too much going around at our house hold. Brian has been working around the house and I have just been laying around the house. Before I was pregnant I could not sit still, I had to be going somewhere or be doing something. Brian told me that he liked me being pregnant because I lay around and don't have to be constantly going.
I have been feeling well...no sickness just being exhausted. I am excited but scared at the same time. I get to stop my progesterone suppositories next week. My placenta is suppose to take over and produce progesterone...How do I know it will. I can't worry about it I just have to let the placenta do it's job and hopefully all goes well.
So what is your prediction that of what I am having, a boy or girl? At first I said it was going to be a girl then I said a boy because my sister in law said I haven't been sick and she was not sick with her boy. But now I am leaning towards a girl... Who knows. The Chinese calendar predicts a boy. What is your prediction? I will find out in May.

Quick Update

I really don't have much news. The news I do have is good. I went to the doctor today for a check up. Everything is looking great. The baby has doubled in size since last time. It is so amazing to see the growth. We also had a good heartbeat! I am getting excited. I know October will get here soon. I go back to the doctor on April 16th. I have to wait 4 weeks. I have been spoiled going every 2 weeks. I know April 16th will be here before I know it.

Exciting News!

I have some very exciting news for Brian and I. I am pregnant! I will be 9 weeks tomorrow! I debated about putting it on my blog yet or waiting till 12 weeks. I decided to go ahead and do it! I am too excited to keep it a secret any more. The reason I was going to wait 12 weeks was because I have had complications and had previous miscarriages. I feel good about this pregancy! I am on progesterone suppositories and they have increased my medicine and everything is going great! We have heard the heartbeat and the baby is growing! My due date is October 8th! Only 7 more months to go! Please keep us in your prayers!

What a Surprise!

Today, I was eating lunch at school and the secretary came in (Susan) and told me that I had a package up front. I walked up to the office and there was a dozen red roses on the counter. I was in shock that they were for me. Brian will by me flowers but he has always said he won't have them delivered becasue that is just extra money wasted. When I saw the roses there, I thought to myself...these can't be from Brian. Sure enough I open the card and it said "Just wanted to tell you how much I love You. I hope you have a great day! Love, Brian" I was so surprised that he thought about getting me flowers just because. He is the best husband and I love him so much!
Later I joked with him that he probably did it so he wouldn't have to do it on Valentines Day. He said no that wasn't the reason but he did say that if he order them on Valentines Day they would be 30.00 dollars more. He said don't expect these again on Valentines Day!
Thank you Brian for making my day!

Quick Note

There is really nothing going on with Brain and I. We are just getting back in the routine of working. Being off 2 weeks during Christmas is nice and hard to go back to work. I think the first day is the worst. You dread about going that first day but it is always okay. So this is my second week back, I hope the week goes by fast. On Friday is Brian's Birthday so we have that to look forward to.
2008 was great and I am looking forward to see what 2009 has in store for us!
