What Luke is Doing Now

I have not updated the blog in a while. Luke had his first sickness a little over a week ago with a cold and ear infection. It hurts to see your baby sick. We went to the doctor and he was put on antibiotic which made a great difference in the way he felt.

We went to the doctor a few days later to his 4 month old check up and shots. He weighed 15 lbs. and 6 oz. 25 inches long. When the doctor walked in and saw him she told me that he was going to be off the charts for his weight. When she looked to see how much he weighed she was in shock that he only weighed 15 lbs. He was in the 50 percentile in his weight and 51 percentile in his height. He may look chunky but he really ins't. He carries it all in his cheeks.

The doctor suggeted us starting ceral. We started Friday and Luke LOVES it. He directs his head towards the spoon. I had heard that babies usually spit out the ceral the first time they try it....not Luke.

Christmas

I know I talked about the New Year before I posted anything about Christmas...so here is Christmas.

We went to visit Brian's parents in Arkansas this year for Christmas. It was cold and rainy ...never snowed :(. We had a great time. Brian's sister, Kelly came with her husband and 3 kids. Kelly's 3 kids LOVE Luke. They always wanted to be by Luke and wanted to know what Luke was doing at all times. Luke always had someone's hands in his face. Luke is lucky to have so much love. A couple of Brian's Aunt's and Uncle's also came for a couple days...we had a full house. We had a great time with everyone! Luke had a great 1st christmas!

2009

2009 has been the best year for Brian and I. I am sure you can guess why....yes a new addition to the family a healthy baby boy, Luke. I have been blessed to have had Luke. He is not only healthy, cute but also is HAPPY! He is a little over 3 months and he is changing everyday. When he smiles at me it melts my heart. I could not imagine him not being here. Motherhood is GREAT! I am not sure what 2010 has in store for us but hopefully it will rank right up with 2009.

My 2010 resoulutions is to loose my baby weight. I have lost 20 lbs but I still have 20 more pounds to go. I would really like to loose 25 pounds. My goal is to loose 20 pounds by the end of March. I HAVE TO DO IT! Another resolution is to hold Luke and play with him more. Sometimes I put Luke in his bouncy seat so I can CLEAN the house and I feel guilty.
Hope you all have a great 2010.

My New favorite Picture

My little guy is going to be 12 weeks on Tuesday. He is smiling and growing. He started daycare on Wednesday. He is doing good. Cousin Bailee is really helping him adjust to being there. She says "My Baby" and wants to help Mrs. Sherry change and feed Luke. At least we know he is in good hands with Bailee being there. This picture was taken the first day he went to daycare.

My Little Guy

Today we went to Luke's 2 month appointment. Tomorrow, Tuesday he will be nine weeks. Where is the time going??? Anyway back to the doctors appointment. Everything went very well. He weighed 11.5 lbs. and was 22.5 inches long. He is in the 40th percentile for his weight and 33rd percentile for his length. We have come such a long way because last appointment he was in the 7th percentile in his weight and 9th percentile in his length.
He received 3 shots today and did so well, he only cried a little. What a tough little guy (he takes after his mom on that). Today the doctor did not hear his heart murmur, YEA!!! Looks like that is healing on it's own.
Luke is a great baby, but at times he screams for an hour to two hours at a time and you can not get him settled. As I was telling the doctor about it she started describing what he did to a "T". She asked if he got stiff and arched his back and head, I said YES. Then she said does he make funny noises that sounds like he is having trouble breathing and again I said YES. She then proceeded to say she thinks he might have acid reflux. The doctor said 80-90% of babies have it but they only treat about 8-10%. The doctor prescribed him a prescription for it that he takes twice a day. We are hoping this helps. We go back to the doctor in a month to see if this is working. I will try and keep you posted to see if it gets better.
