6 weeks and counting

I am way behind on postings. I have 6 more weeks until Luke arrives. I had a sonogram done a couple of weeks ago and everything looks great. We debated on whether to have the 4D sonogram done. We decided not to because we wanted to be surprised at how he looks. I had heard that when you do the 4D you can really tell their facial features. I am glad we didn't do because the technician did try to show us his face in 4D and my placenta was blocking half of his face. So we were not able to see much. The doctors were shocked that he was measuring exactly on his due date. They said they usually measure a week before or a week after the predicted due date. He is in the right position.

I had an appointment yesterday and all was good. But I gained 6 lbs in 2 weeks....WOW. I will just say that Luke is taking on most of the weight....haha. I go back to the doctor in 2 weeks and they will start to see if I have dilated any.

Brian and I are both getting excited and nervous about Luke's arrival but we are both ready. We can't wait to see how much he will weigh and who he will look like. Will he get my big brown eyes or Brian's blue eyes? So many things to look forward to.

Last day off

I get to have the joy of being off during the summer since I work in the school system. Today is my last day to have off. My last day to sleep in, to lay around in my PJ's and just do what I want. Tomorrow I start back getting in the groove of things. At least I will only work for a couple of months and then get to have a "mini" vacation when Luke comes. I can't wait, only 9 more weeks and he will be here! The summer went by super fast.

Doctor's Appointment

Yesterday I had my doctor's appointment to see how Luke and I are doing. We are both doing great. We both are gaining and growing. The doctor measured my stomach and said Luke is measuring 1/2-1 cm bigger then he should at this week. Which I know is not much at all but is good to know that he is on track and growing.
I am looking forward to August 12th. I get to have another sonogram to see if he has started positioning himself and I get to see him!!! That is also my niece's Birthday.
October 8th sounds so far away but when I say I only have 10 weeks left that sounds so soon. I have to go back to work within the next week so I know time is going to fly by and then it will be time for Luke to be here.

Parenting Class

Here are a few pictures of me. I want the pictures to be at the bottom but they always end of at the top of my post.
This past week we started our parenting classes. The classes are to help you get ready for what to expect during labor and delivery. This first class they taught us breathing techniques and positions that you might want to do while you are in labor. It is a 3 hour class once a week for four weeks. This first class went fast. The teacher has a good sense of humor which helps. Brian is going to miss our next class this week because Christus Santa Rosa is opening a new hospital and he is going to be very busy with that. Let me tell you he is very sad that he will miss it, yeah right. My mom gets to go with me to the class and be my coach. I have a doctors appointment this Thursday so I will post if anything new is going on. This appointment the test me for gestational diabetes and anemia. Hopefully I don't have either and hopefully Luke is growing. Only 3 more months a week from Wednesday!!! Can't wait!

Luke's Room

On Wednesday I went to the doctor for my check up. Everything is looking good. Luke measured right on track and his heartbeat was good. The doctor did scare me when he was listening to the heartbeat. He kept moving the heartbeat monitor all over my stomach. He said at the week in pregancy he usually just puts it in one spot and the heartbeat is there. He was able to get the heartbeat but he was having to go all over my stomach because Luke was moving so much. He said how active he was in there.

Brian has been working hard on painting Luke's room. It looks really good! We are done (Brian is done) with the big stuff. He just has to touch up a few spots. I have ordered the crib and a dresser but it won't be in until later this month or beginning of July. Here are a few pictures of the the colors of the room.
